What Are Dental Veneers?
Veneers are a simple and valuable tool that can be used to rejuvenate your smile. Veneers are thin porcelain or composite resin covers that adhere to the front of your teeth to create a more uniform look without the pain, permanence, and expense of dental surgery. Our talented oral care team is experienced in the application of composite resin and porcelain veneers, and they can be customized in size, shape, color, and length to best match each patient’s smile goals. If you’d like more information on how veneers can enhance your pearly whites, give our Copperas Cove, TX office a call today to schedule a consultation for veneers.
"Amazing dentistry. Every employee was not only professional but friendly and kind as well. Dr. Kim and his assistant Zinnia in particular were exceptional, easing the nervousness I feel about dentists from bad childhood visits. They'll absolutely be my go to for dentistry work for as long as I'm in the cove area."- D.M. / Google / Sep 10, 2021
"I was in so much pain walking into my appointment this morning but the staff and Dr.Kim were kind and helped me find a solution that was cost effective and eliminated my dental issue. I highly recommend this office and will be back for any and all of my future dental needs. Thanks again!"- B.N. / Google / Aug 25, 2021
"I called Friday morning to ask for an appointment for a tooth extraction and I was shocked to be offered a same day appointment and the person I spoke to was INCREDIBLY nice. I read that they did payment plans and they had great reviews so I figured, well I’m desperate so I’ll give it a try. The clinic was only a short drive for me and when I got there I didn’t know what to expect. The lobby was nice and the staff were welcoming. The online registration was easy and when I got lead back to meet the dentist I was really appreciative of how incredibly kind and sweet she was. I explained to her my history and I was treated with the utmost respect and understanding. I didn’t feel judged at all. For patients without insurance in the aftermath of a pandemic and job losses and insurance cancellations; it meant the world to me to not feel shamed. This was the absolute best experience I’ve ever had and I will be back and will definitely highly recommend them. Thank you Ace for the compassion!!"- A.M. / Google / Aug 21, 2021
"I had tooth pain after biting down on something hard. It last for days. I called for an appt. They were able to get me in the same day. I got xrays and a cleaning by the DDS. No cavity and pain resolved after cleaning. Walked away 90 minutes later with a $20 fee for a fluoride treatment. Happy day & great customer service!!"- T.N. / Google / Aug 20, 2021
"Took great care of me and awesome family setting."- R.H. / Google / Aug 14, 2021
Will Veneers Work For Me?
Veneers are a great option for people who have teeth that are slightly misaligned, discolored, abnormally shaped, or unevenly spaced. Veneers can even be used to boost the function of broken teeth. At ACE Dental of Cove, we can craft custom composite resin or porcelain veneers and apply them to the front of your teeth to uncover the smile you’ve always wanted. To ensure a balanced result, veneers are often done in pairs or on the entire upper and/or lower arch of your teeth. Veneers work best on candidates with healthy mouths free of gum disease, tooth decay, or bruxism (teeth grinding).
How Are Cosmetic Veneers Placed?
ACE Dental of Cove offers two kinds of cosmetic veneers: porcelain and composite resin (chairside) veneers.
Chairside veneers: Often completed in a single visit, these veneers are made from a composite resin, which is the same material used for tooth-colored fillings and for dental bonding and contouring. First, a member of our dental team may remove a bit of the enamel from the front of the designated teeth. Your veneers will then be crafted from the composite resin and tinted to match the color of your remaining teeth. After the resin has hardened, it will be polished and shaped for a natural look and feel.
Porcelain veneers: Porcelain veneers often require two visits to complete. During the initial visit, we will remove a very small amount of the enamel on the front of the designated teeth, which will create room for the thin porcelain covers to fit on your teeth. A dental professional will then use an iTero oral scanner to take 3D digital impressions of your teeth and will be sent off to a dental lab for your custom-made veneers to be created. While you wait for the porcelain veneers to be made, we will affix temporary veneers to provide you with normal appearance and function. When your permanent veneers arrive, you will come back to our office so that the temporary veneers can be swapped out for the permanent ones.
Caring for Your Restorations
After your veneers are placed, you may experience sensitivity to hot and cold temperatures for a few days, but this should diminish naturally. You should care for your cosmetic veneers just like your own teeth with a daily regimen of flossing and brushing. Some veneers may be more resistant to stains than your natural enamel, but it’s still smart to try to avoid staining foods and beverages to keep the brilliance of your smile. You should also avoid chewing on hard substances (like your fingernails or ice) to ensure the longevity of your veneers. When you return to our office for your regular dental checkups, we will reevaluate the condition of your veneers and let you know if they need to be replaced.
Will Insurance Cover Veneers?
Since dental veneers are considered to be cosmetic, they may not be covered by your dental insurance plan. One of our insurance experts will contact your insurance provider to find out about your specific coverage and let you know your expected cost. ACE Dental of Cove wants you to have the smile you’ve always wanted so we accept many payment methods and can help you find low-interest medical financing to make your dental procedures fit your budget.
