"Amazing dentistry. Every employee was not only professional but friendly and kind as well. Dr. Kim and his assistant Zinnia in particular were exceptional, easing the nervousness I feel about dentists from bad childhood visits. They'll absolutely be my go to for dentistry work for as long as I'm in the cove area."- D.M. / Google / Sep 10, 2021

"I called Friday morning to ask for an appointment for a tooth extraction and I was shocked to be offered a same day appointment and the person I spoke to was INCREDIBLY nice. I read that they did payment plans and they had great reviews so I figured, well I’m desperate so I’ll give it a try. The clinic was only a short drive for me and when I got there I didn’t know what to expect. The lobby was nice and the staff were welcoming. The online registration was easy and when I got lead back to meet the dentist I was really appreciative of how incredibly kind and sweet she was. I explained to her my history and I was treated with the utmost respect and understanding. I didn’t feel judged at all. For patients without insurance in the aftermath of a pandemic and job losses and insurance cancellations; it meant the world to me to not feel shamed. This was the absolute best experience I’ve ever had and I will be back and will definitely highly recommend them. Thank you Ace for the compassion!!"- A.M. / Google / Aug 21, 2021
"I had tooth pain after biting down on something hard. It last for days. I called for an appt. They were able to get me in the same day. I got xrays and a cleaning by the DDS. No cavity and pain resolved after cleaning. Walked away 90 minutes later with a $20 fee for a fluoride treatment. Happy day & great customer service!!"- T.N. / Google / Aug 20, 2021

Should I Use Nitrous Oxide Sedation?
If you have been neglecting your oral health due to your fear of the dentist, you're a good fit for nitrous oxide sedation at ACE Dental of Cove. Prior to recommending the use of nitrous oxide, a member of our experienced dental team will assess your medical history, current medications, and concerns to be sure that nitrous oxide gas is indeed a fit for you.
N2O sedation may be utilized for complex or easy procedures paired with local anesthesia to help reduce your discomfort. Nitrous oxide sedation may also be used for dental anxieties or fears that keep you from visiting the dentist. Nitrous oxide gas might not be right for you if you have extreme phobias, trouble breathing through your nose, have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or other similar health concerns.
What Can I Expect From Nitrous Oxide?
Before the procedure begins, the nitrous oxide will be administered through a nasal hood. As you inhale the gas, it will act quickly and begin relaxing you. Our dentists will observe your response to the gas, as well as your vitals, and adjust the medication as necessary throughout the appointment so you remain relaxed. You may notice tingling in your outer extremities, as well as a feeling of warmth, euphoria, or well-being as the gas begins to take effect. Nitrous oxide is normally used in combination with local anesthesia, like lidocaine, to numb the surfaces inside your mouth. When the procedure is done, the gas will be turned off and the effects begin to fade immediately.
Is there a Recovery Period after Nitrous Oxide?
Recovery from N2O sedation is usually immediate, as the medication is eliminated in just a few minutes. You should be ready to operate a vehicle and return to your normal activities as soon as you leave our office. Side effects are not common, but you may experience sweating, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, headaches, or chills. Don't hesitate to contact our staff if you have any concerns or side effects last longer than a few days. To decrease the risk of nausea, our dental team recommends that you consume a light meal before your procedure and wait about three hours after your appointment before eating a heavy meal.
Will My Insurance Pay For Nitrous Oxide?
If you have dental insurance, our office will make contact with your carrier to understand your coverage and benefits regarding nitrous oxide sedation. This will help us determine your expected costs before your procedure. If you don't have dental insurance, ACE Dental of Cove takes several payment methods, including medical financing, to help make your procedure more affordable.
