What Is Invisalign?
Straight, properly aligned teeth aren't just beautiful to look at; they are healthier and fit more comfortably in your mouth. Crooked teeth and an improper bite can lead to future dental issues that may be painful and expensive to fix. Our dentists are proud to offer Invisalign (clear, removable straightening aligners) for their patients in Copperas Cove, TX. Custom made to fit your teeth and your specific needs, Invisalign is more comfortable and attractive than traditional metal orthodontics because they may be removed to make eating and cleaning your teeth easier. If you're interested in having straighter teeth with Invisalign technology, make an appointment at ACE Dental of Cove to learn more from a member of our dental team.

Is Invisalign Right For Me?
There are several factors that can determine the alignment of your teeth: whether you sucked your thumb as a child, genetics, a missing tooth or teeth, and trauma to your face. Dental misalignment can lead to more oral health concerns, such as a bad bite (dental malocclusion), abnormal enamel wear, trouble chewing and speaking, and tooth or jaw pain. If one of our knowledgeable general dentists notices any of these problems during your dental exam, they can suggest an orthodontic treatment, like Invisalign.
The Invisalign system is ideal for both adults and teens who would like straighter teeth without the hassle, pain, and look of standard braces. Even though the aligners need to be worn for the majority of the time, they can be removed for cleaning your teeth and eating, plus for special occasions and sports. Much less obvious than traditional braces that poke and cut the inside of your mouth, most people probably won't know that you are using your Invisalign tray.
What To Expect With Invisalign
Your initial set of Invisalign clear aligner trays will be made using impressions at ACE Dental of Cove. When they are ready, you will come back to receive your first set of trays, along with instructions from our dental team. You should wear your aligners at least 20 hours each day, ideally removing them only for cleaning and eating. Over time, you will progress to new sets of aligners as they gently move your teeth into proper alignment. You will need to have appointments around every 4 – 6 weeks at ACE Dental of Cove to have your aligning trays evaluated and your next set of aligners can be ordered. How long you use the Invisalign system will differ based on the original position of your teeth and your cosmetic goals, but many patients need to wear trays for about a year.
Follow-Up After Invisalign
As soon as your bite is aligned, it's crucial to keep your teeth from moving into their old position. Invisalign's Vivera® retainers are made using the same comfortable materials as the aligners to keep your teeth in place after your treatment is done. Every retainer is custom made at the Invisalign dental lab based on digital impressions taken once your treatment is complete. A member of our experienced dental team will discuss how many hours a day you should wear your retainer, as well as how to care for it after it is sent from the lab. Our dentists will keep watching your teeth alignment and bite during your biannual dental examinations to make sure your teeth remain in their new place.
Insurance Coverage For Invisalign
Many of our patients find that at least part of their treatment cost is paid by insurance. Our front office will determine your benefits and figure out your remaining fees. ACE Dental of Cove offers several forms of payment if you are not using insurance. At your consultation, our dental team will go over how much your treatment may cost and ways to make your Invisalign treatment more affordable, including payment plans and medical financing.
